Introducing L’Orangerie, replacing Scandinave Spa Vieux-Montréal

A new name. A renewed experience. The same promise.

In brief

L’Orangerie takes over from Scandinave Spa Vieux-Montréal. The address now belongs to a group of Quebec entrepreneurs. The same service, the same promise of silence, and new touches. Open every day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

An address renowned since 2009

L’Orangerie now welcomes guests at 71 Rue de la Commune Ouest, in Old Montréal. Entirely indoors and designed for silence and disconnection, this new wellness space takes over from Scandinave Spa Vieux-Montréal, an address renowned since 2009.

A new chapter begins, without losing anything that built the venue’s reputation.

The address now belongs to a group of Quebec entrepreneurs, who intend to preserve what built its renown while adding their own signature.

“Our guests will find everything they love: the same team, the same silence, the same thermal cycle. We’re adding, not taking anything away.”

Silence, privacy and disconnection remain at the heart of the experience

While part of the industry is moving toward more social spas, L’Orangerie is making a deliberate choice for a silent, fully disconnected experience, in an entirely indoor space in the heart of the city.

Phones are not permitted, and controlled capacity keeps things calm for guests who want to unwind away from prying eyes. The experience doesn’t require half a day either: a wellness ritual designed to fit easily into everyday life.

The perfect conditions for a season within

The name L’Orangerie draws on the orangeries of the same name, historically designed to protect plants and fruit trees by providing the right conditions regardless of season.

The establishment carries on this same principle: an indoor, quiet, carefully controlled space where one can recharge, independent of what’s happening outside.

The work, carried out with Blanchette Archi.Design and construction firm Eliova, enhances guest comfort, atmosphere and journey while preserving the building’s architectural character. Luminaire Authentik now lights the reception area and the massage rooms, and a distinctive scent envelops every visit.

To ensure a natural continuity between the venue’s history and its next chapter, the team who welcomes guests day to day remains in place.
